Ancestral GuardianBarbarian Primal Path — D&D 5e
Ancestral Guardian is the barbarian path for players who’d rather the enemy hit them than their squishy friends. Every feature bends the fight toward you specifically — enemies you touch get worse at hitting anyone else, and damage meant for your allies can end up on your character sheet instead, making this the closest thing barbarian has to a dedicated tank stance.

Ancestral Guardian Features
Level 3 — Ancestral Protectors
The first creature you hit each turn while raging becomes spectrally "marked," and for the rest of the round it has disadvantage on any attack that doesn’t target you — effectively forcing whoever you swing at to keep fighting you instead of your backline.
Level 6 — Spirit Shield
As a reaction while raging, you can shave a chunk of damage off a hit landing on a nearby ally, meaning your rage now doubles as a damage-reduction aura for the whole front line, not just a personal buff.
Level 10 — Consult the Spirits
You can cast augury or clairvoyance through your ancestors without spending a slot, giving the party battlefield foresight from a class that otherwise has zero utility spellcasting.
Level 14 — Vengeful Ancestors
When Spirit Shield absorbs damage for an ally, the ancestors hit back — the attacker takes an equal amount of force damage in return, turning your tanking into active punishment instead of passive mitigation.
