A Setting In One Pass

World StudioGenerate a whole world atlas

Pick a shape, up to four themes and how many regions you want. One pass returns a high-altitude atlas — regions, powers, cosmology and history that all pull on the same tensions — plus a hand-drawn map of the place.

Step by step

How It Works

1

Choose a shape

The physical premise of the world — what kind of place the campaign happens on.

2

Pick up to four themes

The tensions the setting runs on. Four is the cap, and fewer usually reads sharper than four.

3

Set the region count

Six, eight or ten. Each region comes back with its own character and its own quarrel with a neighbour.

4

Generate

The atlas returns whole — regions, powers, cosmology, history — with a hand-drawn map labelled with the region names it just invented.

Who It's For

Starting a campaign from nothing

You have a session in two weeks and no setting. One pass gives you a frame with enough internal tension to improvise against for months.

Breaking a worldbuilding block

You have three good ideas and no structure connecting them. Feed them in as themes and see what shape they want to take.

A one-shot that needs a somewhere

Six regions is plenty of world for a single evening — and the map alone sells the place to your players.

Counsel

Frequently Asked

How many regions can a world have?

Six, eight or ten. That is the whole range — the tool is built for a high-altitude frame, not an exhaustive gazetteer.

How many themes can I pick?

Up to four. Fewer, sharper themes usually produce a more coherent setting than four broad ones.

Does it draw a map?

Yes — a hand-drawn ink-on-parchment map, labelled with the regions from the atlas it just generated.

How is this different from the World Codex?

World Studio generates a setting from nothing. The Codex is where everything you generate afterwards lives and links together. Generate here, keep it there.

Can I name the world myself?

Yes, or leave the field blank and let the generator name it.
