What are dragonborn good at in 5e?
Str +2 / Cha +1 makes them the best paladin race in the Player’s Handbook. They also get a breath weapon once per short rest and permanent resistance to their ancestry’s damage type.
How does dragonborn breath weapon work?
Once per short rest, a 15-foot cone or 5×30-foot line depending on ancestry. Targets make a save (Dex or Con by type) for half. It starts at 2d6 and rises at levels 6, 11 and 16.
What is the best class for a dragonborn?
Paladin — Str +2 and Cha +1 is exactly what the class wants, and no other Player’s Handbook race gives both. Sorcerer is the best flavour fit; fighter and barbarian both use the Strength well.
Do dragonborn have wings?
Not in the base rules — they are scaled bipeds with no flight. Some later options and settings add winged variants, but standard SRD dragonborn walk.
