Wild MagicSorcerer Sorcerous Origin — D&D 5e

Wild Magic sorcerers never fully leash the force running through them, and that’s the point — every spell carries a small chance of spinning off into something the caster never intended, for better or worse. It’s the highest-variance origin in the class, trading consistency for the occasional huge swing.

Wild Magic Features

Level 1Tides of Chaos

Before casting a spell of 1st level or higher, you can tap the chaos in your blood for advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, recharging once the DM makes you roll on the wild magic surge table again.

Level 1Wild Magic Surge

Every so often when you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, the DM can trigger a roll on a table of unpredictable magical effects — most are harmless oddities, but a few genuinely help or hurt everyone nearby.

Level 6Bend Luck

By spending sorcery points as a reaction, you can smooth away bad fortune on any roll you can see, turning an attack, check, or save made with disadvantage into a normal roll.

Level 14Controlled Surge

You stop waiting on chance — spending sorcery points lets you force a wild magic surge on demand, so you can gamble for a beneficial swing exactly when you need one.

Level 18Chaotic Heart

When damage would knock you to 0 hit points without killing you outright, you can use your reaction to trigger a surge and have a chance of shrugging the blow off entirely.
