AbjurationWizard Arcane Tradition — D&D 5e
The School of Abjuration is the toughest tradition a wizard can pick, built around wrapping yourself and your allies in shields that soak up punishment other wizards simply can’t survive.
Level by level
Abjuration Features
Level 2 — Abjuration Savant
Copying an abjuration spell into your spellbook costs you less time and less gold than usual, letting you build out your protective repertoire faster than other wizards.
Level 2 — Arcane Ward
Whenever you cast an abjuration spell, you raise a magical ward around yourself that absorbs damage before it reaches you, its strength scaling with the level of spell you used to fuel it.
Level 6 — Projected Ward
You can extend your arcane ward to protect an ally instead of yourself, letting it absorb damage meant for someone standing near you.
Level 10 — Improved Abjuration
When you cast a 1st-level or higher abjuration spell, you gain resistance to whatever damage type that spell is built to guard against until you cast it again.
Level 14 — Ward’s Bastion
Once per day, you can cast a powerful protective spell you know without spending a spell slot, calling on the deepest well of your tradition’s magic.
