OathbreakerPaladin Broken Oath — D&D 5e
Oathbreaker isn’t a subclass a player picks at level 3 — it’s what a paladin becomes after abandoning their vows and choosing to keep the power anyway, usually a DM tool for turning a fallen ally or NPC into a proper villain. Mechanically it swaps holy support for command over the undead and a genuinely unsettling aura of dread.

Oathbreaker Features
Level 3 — Channel Divinity: Control Undead
Instead of turning undead like a cleric, you can dominate one and force it to obey — this oath recruits the monsters other classes are built to destroy.
Level 3 — Channel Divinity: Dreadful Aspect
A short burst that frightens everyone around you — the villain-monologue button.
Level 7 — Aura of Hate
You and any undead allies nearby deal extra melee damage scaled to your Charisma — the higher your presence, the harder your whole entourage hits.
Level 15 — Supernatural Resistance
Resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage — the same durability spike other oaths get, just with none of the goodness.
Level 20 — Dread Lord
The capstone transformation adds a fear aura and bonus necrotic damage on every hit — by level 20 an Oathbreaker is one of the most dangerous single villains a table can face.
